Not because they can’t afford it. They never connected the portfolio to permission.
The portfolio grew. The internal spending rules didn’t.
So, the person who couldn’t afford a $7,000 vacation at an early age still runs the same calculation later in life, even though the math has changed completely.
Building wealth is the first problem. Learning to use without guilt is the second. Most people only ever solve the first one.
The harder part is rewiring our nervous system to let the money serve us instead of guarding it like a dragon on gold. Many people solve the accumulation problem but remain stick with the scarcity mindset from their earlier age. That internal “I can’t afford it” script keeps running long after the math says otherwise.
